Reilly Hamilton has been identified as the 22-year-old woman who was severely injured after she fell from a five-story building in Midtown Manhattan, New York City as she was attempting to take pictures on Saturday, May 4.

According to the New York City Police Department, Hamilton suffered a fractured pelvis, broken ankle and a broken arm after she fell off of a five-story building in Manhattan on Sunday, April 4. Police say Hamilton fell five stories from her apartment on East 25th Street near Third Avenue around 8 p.m. local time.

Hamilton, a Delta Delta Delta sorority and West Virginia native who graduated from the University of Kentucky last year, is reportedly “lucky to be alive,” according to witnesses who spoke to the New York Post.

Speaking to the New York Post, a 24-year-old female neighbor who wished to remain unidentified said that Hamilton “was taking pictures” when she fell.

“She was taking pictures, and she fell, and apparently she hit the AC unit and landed in the trash area, which is like, horrendous. Horrible. I’m just completely shocked,” she said.

As of Monday, May 6, Hamilton — who was taken to New York’s Bellevue Hospital for emergency surgery — is reportedly in critical but stable condition.

Hamilton’s fall comes less than a month after 22-year-old Fordham University student Sydney Paige Monfries was killed after she fell from a campus clocktower.

The thoughts and prayers are with Reilly Hamilton and her friends, family, and various loved ones during this extremely difficult time, as we wish her a speedy recovery.
