Just days after Justin Bieber called out Eminem for not “understanding” the new generations of rappers and musicians, Eminem released a single with one of those young rappers, Logic, and absolutely crushed it.
Produced by BREGMA and Shroom, the two lightening-tongued rappers — who are admittedly not everyone’s favorite cup of tea — absolutely killed this song, perhaps why they elected to call title it “Homicide.”
Hopefully, the younger generation continues to get under Marshall Mathers’ skin, as this is as good as he’s sounded in years.
As for the whole Justin Bieber thing, the former pop star and current tabloid fodder posted an Instagram story a couple days ago to express his opinion about the legendary Detroit rapper.
“I just like Em’s flow but don’t like that he’s dissing new rappers. I like the new generation of rap he just doesn’t understand it,” Bieber said.
The track also includes Chris D’Elia’s hilarious impression of the Marshall Mathers LP rapper at the end.
As for whether this single is attached to an upcoming project from either of the MCs has yet to be seen.
Eminem’s most recent album, “Kamikaze”, was released back in August 2018, while Logic upcoming studio album, “Supermarket”, was released back on March 26, 2019.
While “Kamikaze” received stronger reviews that previous Eminem efforts, fans of Slim Shady are still waiting for the iconic rapper to return to the form that made him the world’s greatest.
Either way, all rap fans can agree that it’s good to see a bridge being built between the past and the present of hip-hop.
