Alyssa Klinzing will be representing Miss Kansas USA at the upcoming Miss USA pageant. Alyssa, who was previously Miss Kansas Teen USA 2013 and a Top 16 finalist in the pageant, was preceded by 2018 winner Melanie Shaner.
The 21-year-old from Olathe is set to graduate with a degree in political science this spring.
Alyssa, who is a survivor of domestic abuse, “hopes to reach young children across the United States to share her story and encourage kids to never let go of their dreams” with the Miss USA platform.

The pageant is structured the same as any traditional beauty pageant, as it includes swimsuit, gown, and interview competitions.
Each year, the winner of the Miss USA beauty pageant represents the United States of America in the Miss Universe.
