UFC star Brian Ortega is fresh off of a loss to featherweight champion Max Holloway, but he is not shying away from a larger than life challenge. Following the news that 27-year-old powerlifter Sajad Gharibi, who is known as “The Iranian Hulk,” wants to compete in mixed martial arts, Ortega made it clear that he would be willing to welcome the behemoth to the cage.
Of course, this would never happen, but it is entertaining to imagine the 5-foot-8, 145-pound Ortega running around and waiting for the 6-foot-1, 385-pound Iranian Hulk to gas out before going in for the kill.
And that’s exactly what Ortega says his strategy would be.
“Of course, you’re gonna see me just get mauled up like a damn little chihuahua in the beginning,” Ortega said while speaking with TMZ Sports. “But just when I ride that wave out, it’s a done deal man. He’ll gas out and he’ll be mine.”
As for The Iranian Hulk, it looks like we will have to wait until 2020 to see him enter the cage for his mixed martial arts debut. He reportedly will be facing an unnamed Brazilian opponent. The Iranian Hulk previously said he was considering joining the Iranian Armed Forces to fight ISIS in the Syrian Civil War. It’s going to be quite the scene to see how he matches up against his first mixed martial arts opponent and how long he lasts before those massive muscles steal all of the oxygen from his lungs.
When it comes to T-City, he is hoping to return to the Octagon by the end of the year to return to the win column after suffering his first career loss in the championship fight against Holloway.
