Game of Thrones fans are still buzzing from the epic “Battle of Winterfell” and the showdown between Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and The Night King (Vladimir Furdik). By now, the internet has been flooded with the results and outcome of their confrontation, and the stars of the series are finally starting to weigh in.
For Furdik, who portrayed The Night King from beginning in 2016, that meant posting a post-battle scene selfie with Williams.
It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes, candid shot that television fans love to see.

Despite the great reception from the audience, Williams was initially unsure of how Game of Thrones fans would receive Arya taking down The Night King.
“It was so unbelievably exciting,” Williams told Entertainment Weekly. “But I immediately thought that everybody would hate it; that Arya doesn’t deserve it. The hardest thing is in any series is when you build up a villain that’s so impossible to defeat and then you defeat them. It has to be intelligently done because otherwise people are like, ‘Well, [the villain] couldn’t have been that bad when some 100-pound girl comes in and stabs him.’ You gotta make it cool. And then I told my boyfriend and he was like, ‘Mmm, should be Jon though really, shouldn’t it?’”
It’s safe to say that everything paid off.
