Different regions of the world have their very distinct accents. And if you have ever traveled across the globe, you have had the opportunity to experience the different dialects and languages first hand. Of course, some of the accents are more appealing and pleasant than ever, and now we have a poll that lets us know which accent is viewed as the “sexiest” in the world.
Big 7 Travel recently revealed a poll from its 1.5 million readers — which consist of international travelers — to reveal the world’s sexiest accent.
The list was topped with some of the usual suspects.
Out of the nearly 7,000 languages in the world and variety of accents, it was New Zealand that came out on top.
“To a novice ear, the New Zealand accent might sound just like the Australian accent, but Big 7 Travel readers disagree,” the website reads. “The ‘Newzild’ dialect is outrageously charming. The sexiest accent in the world? It’s official.”
South African checked in at No. 2, while Irish, Italian, and Australian accents rounded out the top five.
The first stateside accent to make the list was Southern USA, checking in at No. 9.
“Who can resist a slow, Texan drawl? Not us, and not our community, clearly,” Big 7 travel states. “You’ll also find this accent in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Kentucky.”
