A small plane that departed from the West Houston Airport on Monday, April 22, has crashed near Kerrville, Texas, killing at least six people.
In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration said that the place, a twin-engine Beechcraft BE58, crashed around 9 a.m. local time while preparing to land at Kerrville Municipal Airport.
According to the latest reports, all six people who were aboard the plane have died as a result of the crash. The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety both responded to the scene of the crash.
Officials with the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office said that the private plane crashed into a ravine outside of the Kerrville Municipal Airport, as the plane’s wreckage was found approximately six miles northwest of the airport.
An investigation will take place to find out further details behind the crash, including what caused it. Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash, the NTSB reportedly leading the investigation.
Kerrville, which has a population of approximately 23,434, is located in Kerr County, Texas. Kerrville sits west of Austin and northwest of San Antonio.
