Alyssa Rupp Bohenek, a second-grade teacher at Valley View Elementary School in Archbald, Pennsylvania is under fire after being critical of a student, according to a petition on Change.org. Bohenek “shamed” a student for doing insufficient work on an assignment and later found herself as the victim of a Twitter mob calling for her firing.
Bohenek was unhappy with how a student had performed on a math assignment, so she decided to leave a less than flattering remark.
The comment from Bohenek read, “Absolutely pathetic he answered 13 in 3 min! Sad.”
Parents then decided to fire back at the teacher for what they decided were offensive comments. In fact, the petition even went as far as to call for Valley View Elementary School to fire Alyssa Rupp Bohenek fro her position.
“Alyssa Rupp Bohenek is a teacher for the Valley View school district that thinks it’s ok to bully and talk down to her students and needs to be removed,” the page read. Another responder added: “My daughter attends valley view school if a teacher were talk to or write something like this on her paper I would be out for blood. I dont speak to my kids like that over my dead body with someone else.”
Surprisingly, the petition holds more than 11,000 of a hopefull 15,00 signature.
