According to reports, police at Florida International University say that Sanchez was last seen on the university’s Biscayne Bay Campus around 7 a.m. local time on April 16.

Police consider Sanchez — who lives at home and commutes to Florida International University — to be “endangered”. However, Florida International University police have yet to clarify any further details about Sanchez’s disappearance.

At the time of this writing, there is no information on where authorities believe Sanchez was possibly headed at the time of his disappearance.

In a statement asking the public for assistance in location Sanchez, Florida authorities described the Florida International University student as being approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing approximately about 160 pounds.

Capt. Delrish Moss, a spokesman for the Florida International University Police Department, said that Sanchez’s family has not been able to contact him.

“His family has been trying to reach him by phone all day. It’s totally out of character for him,” Moss said.

Additionally, authorities say he has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a light blue soccer jersey, blue shorts, and colorful sneakers. Furthermore, police say he may have been carrying a backpack and laptop case at the time of his disappearance.

Florida International University officials and Florida state authorities have asked anyone who sees Sanchez or has information about his whereabouts to immediately contact the Florida International University police by dialing 305-348-5911 or 305-348-2626.

Florida International University, founded in 1965 and located in Miami-Dade Country, Florida, is a public university with approximately 56,886 students, 48,186 of which are undergraduates.

FIU is the second largest university in the state of Florida, behind only the University of Central Florida, which is located in Orlando, Florida, and has approximately 60,000 students.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends, family, and loved ones of Kelvin Sanchez during this extremely difficult time.
