Sol Pais, the 18-year-old South Florida teenager at the center of an FBI manhunt after allegedly making a threat against Denver-area schools, has been captured in the woods near the Echo Lake Campground in the Arapaho National Forest, Colorado.

According to witnesses, Pais was naked with a gun when she was captured. At the time of this writing, Pais’ condition is unknown.

Sol Pais Captured? Where Was Columbine Threat Maker Caught?

Pais, 18, was found and apprehended by SWAT team members in the woods near the Echo Lake Campground in the Arapaho National Forest, Colorado.

SWAT team members from the FBI and Clear Creek County responded to the area following tips from civilians. The SWAT team’s base of operations was established at the Echo Lake Lodge in Idaho Spring, Colorado.

As a result of Pais’ threats, over 20 schools were locked down on Tuesday, April 16 and half a million students missed school today due to precautionary closures.

Pais, from Surfside, Florida, is reportedly infatuated with the Columbine High School shooting that occurred almost two decades ago.

Authorities say that Pais flew into Colorado from Florida before purchasing a pump-action shotgun. She then made a “credible threat” of committing an act of violence that prompted the April 16 lockdown of 21 schools.

Pais, described as being 5’5″ with dark brown hair, was last seen a black t-shirt, camouflage pants, and black boots.

In addition to her threats, a “death-obsessed” website allegedly run by Pais has been uncovered that is filled with disturbing journal entries filled with ominous drawings and quotes.

We can confirm there is investigative activity around the base of Mt. Evans. The investigation is active and ongoing. More information will follow soon. #FindSol

In an interview with CBS 4 Miami at his Surfside, Florida, home,  Pais’ father — who described the situation as “a bad dream” — said that his daughter may have a “mental problem.”

“It’s like a bad dream. We don’t know. We don’t have any ideas,” Pais’ distressed father said.

Pais threats came just mere days before the 20-year anniversary of the tragic Columbine High School mass shooting that resulted in the deaths of 12 students and 1 teacher.
