Sol Pais, 18, has been identified as the person who is responsible for making a number of threats to Columbine area high schools. Police are actively seeking the suspect and currently, consider her armed and dangerous.

“FBI asking for public’s help locating Sol Pais in connection with credible threat to JeffCo schools. Considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach, if you spot, call FBI tipline at (303) 630-6227. Last seen in Jefferson County,” Rob Quirk of KOAA in Colorado wrote on Twitter.

Pais is described as “around 5-foot-5″ with brown hair and was last seen in Jefferson County.

She was allegedly “infatuated with Columbine,” according to authorities.

Nearly two dozen schools in the area were placed on lockdown — which means it was business as usual inside of the building while entry into the schools was restricted — due to Pais’ threats.

Pais was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage pants, and black boots, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the FBI tipline at 303-630-6227. The public should not approach her.

A manhunt is currently underway.

Shortly after the threats were made, the Jefferson County School District issued a statement which read: “We will have extra safety and security staff on site at all schools affected. All after-school activities, sports, and practices will occur as scheduled EXCEPT for Columbine High School where all such activities are canceled.

“All students and staff are safe. This is a precautionary effort due to police activity from multiple agencies within Clear Creek and Jefferson counties.”

The anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting — carried out by senior students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold — is just days away, with Saturday, April 20 marking the 20-year anniversary. A total of 12 students and one teacher were injured in the shooting before Harris and Klebold took their own lives.
