Maisie Williams, born in Bristol, England, on April 15, 1997, is an English actress who is best known for her role of Arya Stark on HBO’s Emmy Award-winning fantasy drama Game of Thrones.
Luckily enough for Williams, her first acting role was on Game of Thrones, immediately launching her into international star status. She made her feature film debut in the 2014 film The Falling.
In addition to her iconic performance as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, Williams has appeared in a handful of feature films such as Up on the Roof, Heatstroke, Gold, The Falling, The Book of Love, iBoy, Mary Shelley, Early Man, Stealing Silver, Corvidae, Then Came You, and the long-gestating X-Men film The New Mutants.
In The New Mutants — which is directed by The Fault in our Stars director Josh Boone and is expected to hit theaters in the United States on August 2, 2019 — Williams will be portraying Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane, a Scottish mutant who is “struggling to reconcile her religious beliefs with her power to turn into a wolf.”
While The New Mutants was originally supposed to hit theaters on April 13, 2018, it has since been twice delayed to August 2, 2019, due to extensive reshoots to make the film scarier.
During the course of her short career, Williams has also made further television appearances on TV series such as The Secret of Crickley Hall, Robot Chicken, Cyberbully, and a recurring role on the iconic long-running British sci-fi series Doctor Who.
Williams has yet to announce her post-Game of Thrones career plans, but given her Emmy-nominated performance as Arya, we have a feeling the young English actress will have plenty of options.
