The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to pay-per-view on Saturday, April 13 with UFC 236. The event was headlined by two interim championship bouts, meaning there was plenty of money to be thrown around to the main and co-main event participants. UFC 236 was held at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Leading the way on the payroll as disclosed by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission are featherweight champion Max Holloway, new interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, and new interim lightweight titleholder Dustin Poirier.
Holloway and Adesanya earned $350,000 a piece, while Poirier brought home $250,000.
The figures released do not include any money from outside sponsors. UFC 235 purses also exclude any locker room bonuses but do figure in the $50,000 for Fight of the Night and Performance of the night bonuses along with the required Reebok outfitting pay.
