The Boston Police Department is currently looking for 10-year-old female Sophia Mendez, who was last seen near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
In an official tweet, the Boston Police Department described Mendez as being “slender build, 5’2” tall” and wearing a pink shirt, a black jacket, and a headband.
The Boston Police Department asked the public for assistance in locating the 10-year-old Mendez in a tweet:
“Missing Person Alert: The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to locate 10-year-old female Sophia Mendez. She was last seen by the Boston Marathon Finish Line. She is slender build, 5’2” tall, and wearing the above pictured clothing,” the BPD’s tweet read.
At this time, not much is known about Mendez’s disappearance.
The Boston Marathon, first launched in 1897 and held every year on Patriot’s Day, is the world’s oldest annual marathon. Today’s race kicked off in Boston around 9 a.m. local time and wrapped up around 1 p.m. EST.
