Chloe Jones has been identified as the Pennsylvania woman who got caught while she was on the run after she taunted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
According to reports, on Wednesday, March 27, Jones — who was wanted by police in Pennsylvania — commented “do you do pick up or delivery?” on the Greene County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook post about their Top Ten Most Wanted List.
In addition to the comment, Jones left four crying-laughing emojis.
However, as she was arguing with other people in the comment section of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook post, she said that she was in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said that through Jones’ Facebook comments and further tips from civilians, West Virginia police officers were able to arrest Jones in Monongalia County on Monday, April 8.
Following her arrest on April 8, the Morgantown Police Department took Jones into custody and had her extradited back to Pennsylvania.
“Ms. Chloe Jones and her witty comments are taking a hiatus from our Facebook comments section due to the jail not having internet for her to use,” the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook statement announcing Jones’ capture.
“Thank you to the citizens of Greene County, Monongalia County and many others for your tips that lead to her arrest. Morgantown Police were able to take her into custody this evening,” the statement concluded.
However, despite the fact that Jones is now in custody, authorities have yet to disclose why Jones was wanted by police in the first place. Similarly, police have not disclosed what Jones has been charged with at this time.
