Chance the Rapper is finally going to give fans what they have been waiting for. On Wednesday, April 10, Chance took to social media to announce that he was finally in “album mode” and ready to finish his debut album.
According to Chance, the reason he is finally able to turn his attention to wrapping up his first studio album is that his wife gave him her blessing.
“My wife gave me the go ahead to put everything else on hold and really go to work on my debut album. Its been a lil hard at times, I obviously miss Chicago and family and working on other stuff, but there truly is no joy like making a project,” Chance wrote.
“Somehow I always forget that i’m so, so good at this. And every night i surprise myself again. July is gonna be bittersweet because as much as i can’t wait to be done, the process is the best part! Yall should thank Kirsten cause she dont gotta share me wit NOBODY. But she knows what i do and is handling this pregnancy and our family with so much grace. Babe I have to appreciate u supporting me all these years and I swear i can’t wait to get juked on to these new songs.”
Chance has previously released three mixtapes — 10 Day, Acid Rap, and Coloring Book. All of the mixtapes were met with high praise from the fans, so they have been itching for some new music from the Chicago rapper.
And while we aren’t sure when the album will officially drop, we do know that Chance is working to finish it up and that will keep us happy enough for now.
