Ashley Hess was born in California but is now based out of Nashville, Tennessee as she attempts to take her music career to the next level. Of course, she will also be receiving a boost in popularity thanks to a run on season 2 of the reality singing competition American Idol on ABC.
Hess made a positive impact on the judges from Day 1 and was invited to Hollywood. From there, she continued to impress and eventually earned a spot in the Top 20. After a duet with pop star Jason Mraz, Hess advanced to the Top 14 of the competition.
For the 27-year-old, one of the keys to her success is an ability to emotionally connect to the audience.
“There is no better feeling than going though the process of creating a song, performing that song, and having people connect with the song that I created,” she said on her official website. “Those are the moments I live for. Getting out there, playing my music and establishing a connection.”
Hess has released three original songs, including “Running” which dropped in August of 2018. She is currently writing and working on her first original EP which is expected to release in 2019. She has previously shared the stage with acts like Andy Grammer, Us the Duo, and Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons.
