Kanye West’s weekly Sunday Service in Los Angeles took place once again on April 7, as the series nears its end. But this weekend, Sunday Service was a special one as it honored late-rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Nipsey was gunned down in broad daylight in front of his clothing store in Los Angeles. Nipsey went to the store without his security because it was an impromptu trip to pick up clothes for a friend who had just gotten out of prison.
It was at that time he was confronted by Eric Holder, who open-fired, killing Nipsey and injuries two associates.
So for today’s outdoor concert series, Kanye played audio of an inspirational speech from Nipsey over music that was being played by Kanye from the DJ booth. The live band and choir then joined in with their epic gospel sound.
We even got to see a cameo from North West.

The final Sunday Service concert will come on Easter Sunday at Coachella.
It was previously believed that he was set to perform at the festival, but Kanye’s creativity led to some production issues. Kanye reportedly wanted to perform inside of a dome in the middle of the festival grounds instead of on stage and the logistics just didn’t work out at the time, according to the Los Angeles Times.
But things seemed to have worked out because now Kanye is going to be performing at Coachella on the second weekend in what promises to be a must-see show. We’ll just have to wait and see whether ‘Ye got his wish of having a dome.
Coachella will take place over two weekends, April 12-14 and April 19-21. Headliners for this year’s festival are Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala.
