The funeral plans of late-rapper Nipsey Hussle are coming together. According to reports, Nipsey will be honored at a memorial that is scheduled for Thursday, April 11 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Few details are available at this time, but an official statement is expected to come soon.
A TMZ report claimed that a website would be set up to make tickets available and that only those with tickets would be granted access to the event. Karen Civil, however, was quick to contradict that report.
“I want to officially let Nipsey Hussle fans & supporters know there will be NO selling of tickets to his funeral,” she wrote on Twitter. “A lot of incorrect information was released today, please know in the upcoming days and official statement will be made soon.”
Nipsey was recently honored at the Staples Center with the Los Angeles Lakers paying tribute to late-rapper Nipsey Hussle on Thursday, April 4 ahead of their game against the Golden State Warriors. Nipsey was gunned down in broad daylight outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 31. The suspect in his murder, Eric Holder, has since been arrested and charged with murder.
To honor the Crenshaw native, the Lakers played a video tribute on the scoreboard, his music during pre-game warmups, and LeBron James even sported a Nipsey Hussle t-shirt on the bench.
