Jamarion Reese, a 17-year-old in Texas, received a warrant for his arrest from the Waco Police Department after a video went viral that showed him viciously beating his girlfriend after a prank. Reese’s girlfriend pretended that she was breaking up with him before he unloaded a series of punches.
Reese continued striking his girlfriend until someone came into the room urging him to “chill.”
“The investigation determined this was a case of dating violence and they have had a dating relationship for the past 2 years,” Public Information Officer Sgt. Patrick Swanton said in a Facebook post on the Waco Police Department’s page.
“Based on the investigation a warrant was issued for Reese’s arrest. We are aware of his current location and will be serving the warrant when possible.”
Authorities plan to charge Reese with Class A assault which is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of $4,000.
According to the Waco Tribune-Herald, Reese was booked into McLennan County Jail on Monday, April 1 for an undisclosed offense. However, as of Friday, April 5, he was no longer in custody.

Shockingly, the girl appeared to forgive her boyfriend for the assault and even went as far as to defend his actions. In another Instagram Live video, Reese’s girlfriend can be heard saying, “we got real love over here, we punch each other.” She also added, “Maaaannn the s**t just didn’t go as planned; mind yours” while discussing the incident in a text message exchange that she also decided to share.
