Brian Rini, or Brian Michael Rini, has been identified as the 24-year-old Ohio man who poses as Timmoth Pitzen, who was a 7-year-old boy that went missing back in 2011.
According to reports, Rini — from Medina, Ohio — has been identified as the man who falsely claimed he was missing Aurora, Illinois boy Timmothy Pitzen.
Following a DNA test conducted by the FBI, investigators concluded that Rini was not who he claimed he was.
The shocking news comes after previous reports indicated that Pitzen’s family is currently were en route to the Cincinnati area where Rini, then thought to be Pitzen, was found.
Police records indicate that Rini has a prior criminal record for fraud, making false claims to police, burglary and felony vandalism.
Back in 2017, Rini was one of four men charged with burglary and felony vandalism after they threw a destructive party at a model home.
Pitzen, who remains missing, was last seen with his mother Amy Fry-Pitzen in Aurora, Illinois, on Thursday, May 12, 2011, after being picked up from school.
According to reports, Fry-Pitzen took her son to a handful of amusement parks before later committing suicide in a Rockford, Illinois motel room.
Additionally, a suicide note recovered at the scene of the suicide stated that while Timmothy would never be found, he was “safe.” Pitzen, who would now be around 14-years-old, hasn’t been seen since.
