If you’re ever in need of gas, steer clear of the Shell gas station at Bernal Road and San Ignacio Avenue in South San Jose, California. Recently, one very angry clerk at the gas station went on a disgusting racist rant all because of the fact that a customer was speaking in Spanish.

According to ABC 11, San Jose resident Grecya Moran was in the gas station when she began speaking in Spanish to one of the employees. That seemed to trigger another employee who was standing nearby as she began yelling that they should be speaking English.

“I even went up to her and I apologized,” Moran told the news. “I said, ‘Excuse me, I’m sorry. All she was saying is, she was greeting me in Spanish. How my day’s going.’ And she said, ‘I don’t care, you talk in English because this is America.’ She started saying something about, ‘Trump needs to hurry up and build the wall.’ That’s when I was like, oh my God, she’s being serious,” Moran said. “I just got my phone, started videotaping her.”

While Moran was being berated for her choice of language, she was also holding her 18-month-old son.

The clerk even went as far as to ask for proof of citizenship.

From the report:

The employee continued, “You can do whatever you want because you’re not a United States citizen of the United States.”

Moran replied, “I was born here.”

The employee is insistent Moran provide proof, “Then prove it to me, mother–!”

According to ABC7 News, the employee who berated the Spanish-speaking customer was fired the same day of the incident. Moran, meanwhile, contacted the San Jose Police Department to report the disturbance as a possible hate crime.
