HBO released a new teaser trailer for the final season of Game Of Thrones titled “Aftermath” that spells nothing but trouble for Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the rest of Westeros’ finest.

Check out the latest Game Of Thrones trailer then keep scrolling for our full frame-by-frame breakdown.

Let’s forget about the imagery for a hot second and focus on the auditory hints and clues used in the teaser, such as the in-battle Saving Private Ryan-esque head-ringing noise that Jon has experienced before, the sound of the Night King’s Upside Down Ice Dragon shrieking, Dire Wolf growling, raven cawing, and the terrified screams of living people south of the wall.

As for the heavy-handed imagery used in the “Aftermath” trailer — which likely will not be seen in the actual show — here’s everything important that pops up and the time they can be seen:

Now, I know what you’re thinking:

Truthfully, I don’t think it means much. Given that not *actual scenes* from the upcoming final season used, the teaser is more of a mood-setter than it is a traditional trailer.

And this “mood-setter” is just further reiterating that the good guys are in for some real shit. Does it mean that every character teased 50-second teaser — Jon, Dany, Jaime, Arya, and Tyrion — are going to die as this trailer seemingly suggests? I doubt it.

But if they do — if HBO reaaaallllyyy goes the route of having the Night King and the Army of the Dead win — then all the power to them, because that’s a bold decision that they’ve not only made, but effectively spoiled with this “teaser trailer.”

Anyway, all of this is a long way of saying that the living are probably going to get their asses handed to them by the dead at the Battle of Winterfell and there WILL be some serious casualties.

The only question that remains is … who?

HBO’s eighth and final season of the Emmy award-winning fantasy drama Game Of Thrones will premiere on HBO on Sunday, April 14, at 9 p.m. EST.
