Fans at the Golden State Warriors game on Sunday appear to have recorded the exact moment that Kevin Durant told Steph Curry about the tragic shooting death of 33-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle.
The video — which was uploaded to YouTube by a fan account called LEtsGoWarriors — was taken during the Warriors pregame warmup ahead of their game against the Charlotte Hornets at the Oracle Arena on Sunday, March 31.
Hussle, born Ermias Davidson Asghedom on August 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, was killed outside of Marathon Clothing, a clothing store he owned located at 3420 W. Slauson Ave in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles around 3:20 p.m. local time on Sunday, March 31.
After hearing about the news, Steph Curry took to Twitter to shares his condolences.
“God please cover and restore @NipseyHussle right now!!!,” Curry tweeted.
Curry wasn’t the only world-famous person to pay his respects to Hussle, as athletes and musicians alike came together to pay tribute to the late “Victory Lap” rapper.
Police say that they believe the shooting was gang-related and are still working to identify a suspect at the time of this writing.
Steve Soboroff, the Los Angeles Police Department Commissioner, said that Hussle was scheduled to meet with LAPD Chief Michel Moore on Monday, April 1, “to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids.”
