Jenny SuShe, born Jennifer Ravalo on June 14, 1976, in the United States, is an American celebrity sushi chef and reporter who gained national notoriety after Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev kissed her during a live interview.
In the now-viral clip, Ravalo can be seen interviewing Pulev following his heavyweight boxing victory over Bogdan Dinu when the Bulgarian boxer kissed her on the lips.
The video was recorded at The Hangar OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California on Friday, March 22.
After the video went viral, Ravalo hired attorney Gloria Allred and Pulev has been suspended by the California State Athletic Commission, TMZ reports.
In an attempt to explain and defend his actions, Pulev tweeted an official statement on Monday, March 25, saying that he and Ravalo are friends.
To my fans,
You may have seen a clip of me kissing a female reporter following an interview after I won my fight Saturday night. The reporter, Jenny, is actually a friend of mine, and after the interview, I was so elated, I gave her a kiss.
Later that night, she joined me and my other friends at my post-fight celebration. On the video, after our kiss, we both laughed about it and thanked each other. There is really nothing more to this.
Ravalo contradicts that story, saying that the kiss interview was the first time she and Pulev had interacted with each other.
SuShe did post an Instagram photo with Pulev, although that picture has since been taken down.
When asked how she felt during the moment, Ravalo said that she felt “immediately shocked and embarrassed” and didn’t “know how to respond.”
After the California State Athletic Commission announced Pulev’s suspension, Ravalo’s lawyer Gloria Allred posted a statement on Instagram saying that she and her client are “very happy that Pulev has been suspended from boxing in California.”
“We are very happy that Pulev has been suspended from boxing in California by the California Athletic Commission pending a full hearing on this matter. This is the action that we were seeking and that we believe is appropriate given his [Pulev’s] assault on Jenny Ravalo,” Allred stated.
“She was just doing her job as a reporter when he suddenly kissed her on the lips. That kiss was not welcome or consented to by her. We commend the Commission for this action and look forward to the full hearing where Mr. Ravalo will have an opportunity to testify,” the full statement reads.
