Every week or so, a video surfaces online that shows a customer or random person on the street going on a racist tirade. Every time, the person who is caught spewing their racism or bigotry is freaking out for the smallest of reasons. The small things that trigger the racist rants are perfectly normal to a sane person.
Case and point: a racist customer at a Mexican restaurant in California.
When you enter an authentic restaurant, you probably shouldn’t be surprised to see or hear Spanish. You know, that is the native tongue in Mexico after all. Don’t tell that to this angry man at Palapas Tacos in Anaheim, though.
The customer entered the restaurant and was eager to scoop up the fish tacos. He apparently couldn’t read the bilingual sign which said “Viernes” — which is Spanish for Friday. The day was also written in English, but the customer ignored that and was upset when his fish tacos weren’t the same price as advertised on the Friday special sign.
It was a Monday…
Restaurant owner Juan Del Rio explained that the customer then went off on a rant because the sign apparently wasn’t clear enough for him.
“It says it in Mexican. We’re not in Mexico,” the customer said, KCAL9-TV in Los Angeles. “We’re in America. I’m an American. I don’t do Spanish.” After another customer intervened and urged the angry man to go get a “hot dog” somewhere else, he stormed out of the restaurant. On his way out, the fish taco deficient customer threatened to call “ICE.”
