Kelsey Turner, a 25-year-old former Playboy model, has been arrested by FBI agents and the Las Vegas Police Department in relation to the murder of children’s psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Burchard. Burchard was found dead in the desert near the Lake Mead National Recreation Area entrance, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Burchard was reportedly found in the trunk of the vehicle.

The 71-year-old doctor’s death was ruled a homicide after it was determined that he died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Turner was later arrested in Stockton, California on charges of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon enhancement. Turner was being held in the San Joaquin County Jail without bail and is awaiting extradition to Clark County Jail in Nevada.

While Turner has not been identified as the one who actually murdered Burchard, authorities determined she was involved. There is no word on how she was connected to the crime.

“The investigation conducted by LVMPD Homicide Detectives determined 25-year-old Kelsey Turner was involved in the incident,” the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.

According to KSBW 8, Turner’s mother, Samantha, says that Kelsey and Burchard had known each other for years. In fact, for “about a year,” Kelsey, her mother, and Kelsey’s children all lived in a home that Burchard was paying the rent for.

Burchard was found dead on March 7. Just over a week later, on March 15, KTNV reports that Las Vegas detectives found the body of another man shot to death. That man was identified as 33-year-old Marcos Madrid, who had lived in Las Vegas for the past 10 years. His body was found on the same day that an arrest warrant for Turner was granted, and there have been grumblings that the two homicides could be connected.
