The official extended trailer for season six of The 100 has arrived.

The 100 has been a staple on the CW Network since it premiered back in 2014. The series follows a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. Through five seasons, the world has been expanded upon, established characters have died, new ones arrived, and there were plenty of twists and turns.

The most significant change came at the end of season five. The survivors escaped Earth just before another apocalyptic event and went into cryogenic sleep on a spaceship. They were only supposed to be out for a short time but were left there for over 100 years. Season six picks up where that massive change left us and the new trailer gives us plenty of details on what’s to come.

With Earth uninhabitable and the characters asleep, Monty (Christopher Larkin) stayed awake to find something to save them. He and his girlfriend Harper (Chelsey Reist) ended up having a baby as they waited for some sign of hope on Earth. The end of season five showed that Monty and Harper eventually died of old age, but found a habitable planet for them to survive on. Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) were awakened after 125 years and greeted by Monty’s son, Jordan. That’s where we left off.

The trailer shows that this new planet is already habited by beings who, at least at first glance, look like humans. That isn’t something most fans predicted. Instead of starting a new civilization, the group must integrate into an existing one. Anyone who has watched the show knows that working with other groups hasn’t worked well for these characters.

Things take a turn for the worse when an eclipse comes that causes almost everyone to go mad. The trailer gives us some pretty violent and disturbing imagery that is right up this show’s alley. And that’s just the beginning of the danger. Will these characters be able to survive on their new planet? Will they pay for their old sins?

We find out answers when season six premieres on Tuesday, April 30 on the CW Network.
