A shooting has been reported in North Seattle near Lake City Way, according to multiple reports. The Seattle Police Department says there are “multiple victims” and that the incident occurred near 120th and Sand Point Way NE. A metro bus was involved in the shooting.
A heavy police presence was recorded, with a report from Q12 FOX says one suspect has been detained.
Police Chief Carmen Best said four people were shot, including one who was killed, according to the Seattle Times. While it has not yet been confirmed, it is believed that a metro bus driver was one of the victims.
From the report:
A bus driver on the Metro Route 75 was hit in the torso but able to walk to a gurney to be transported by paramedics, according to Kenneth Price, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587, who said he was en route to the hospital. It’s unclear whether the transit operator was targeted, Price said.
“We’re still gathering information. It’s still early,” said agency spokesman Jeff Switzer.
Police are responding to multiple scenes.
The Seattle Department of Transportation is urging people to seek alternate routes.
