Antonio Morales has been identified as the 18-year-old student at Chaffey High School who was found shot and killed in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, March 27, according to a report from local news outlet ABC-7.
Morales was on spring break with friends when they decided to leave the house to a nearby store.
That is when the gunfire broke out, with reports of at least seven gunshots being fired. Morales was shot in the chest.
“They were hanging out, just kids, and they’d gone and bought a pizza and came back and decided they were going to go to the liquor store and get sodas and stuff,” said Tom Halford, the grandfather of Morales’ girlfriend. “They left here and it wasn’t a couple minutes later it was seven or eight gunshots.”
Morales’ family describes the young man as a good kid and emphasized that he was not “involved in a gang.”
Our deepest condolences go out to the Morales family and all of those who were impacted by the tragic and heartbreaking events.
