Vatsla Watkins, a 39-year-old woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, was last seen on Monday, March 18. There have been very few details since she went missing, but an update was given on Friday, March 22.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Watkins’ four-door 2004 Mercedes-Benz C230 sedan was found abandoned near a marina at Lake Wylie.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department deployed officers from the missing person and lake units to search along Lake Wylie. The search units also included local fire departments and K-9 units. While they were unable to locate Watkins at that time, authorities said they “are continuing their efforts in locating Ms. Watkins.”
Watkins was last seen driving her Mercedes when she left her home on March 18. She stands 5-foot-4 with black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black lightweight jacket.
Since the update on Monday, March 25, authorities have not provided any additional information.
Vatsla was born and raised in Chandigarh, India before moving to Charlotte when she was 18 years old. She is currently a software engineer and fashion designer, focusing her efforts on social media towards the fashion aspect of her interests.
She is married to Curtis Watkins, a former Mecklenburg County GOP chair, according to WCNC. He is currently the CEO of Bovametrics, which uses algoithms to help wealth managers boost their portfolios. The couple has two children.
