Yoji Harada, a famed tattoo artist, is dead at 49. On Wednesday, March 27, a number of tributes and reports began to surface online about his passing. Harada is best known for his appearance on the TLC series Miami Ink.
Harada’s specialty was Japanese style artwork.
Fellow tattoo artist Tommy Montoya confirmed his death on social media, one day after another famed tattoo artist, Lyle Tuttle, passed away at 72.
Montoya wrote, “Another friend gone!! so sad. rest In PEACE Yoji. you will be missed! #yojiharada.” On Twitter, he added, “rest in peace buddy. I will miss you today Yoji Harada passed away. Many knew him personally and many knew him from Miami/Ny Ink TV shows. Either way he was a great person and always showed me love!!! miss you Homie!!!”
Harada, who had been working at Lucky Clover Tattoo in the Netherlands, is survived by his daughter Sydney.
