Eminem Thinks AAF Should Allow Fighting, Johnny Manziel Agrees

Rap star Eminem is apparently paying close attention to the upstart Alliance of American Football (AAF) professional football league. The Detroit rapper recently took to social media to share his thoughts on a recent game and even offered the league some advice on how to boost its popularity.

According to Slim Shady, if the AAF wants to take things to the next level they should take a page out of the NHL’s playbook and allow fighting.

We like it.

“Dear The AAF, Please entertain this thought regarding the AAF Iron AAF Express game: allowing the players to actually fight would be key to league’s success like hockey,” he wrote. “I would watch every game (even though there is no Detroit team yet – hint). Don’t blow it.”

DEAR @THEAAF,
PLEASE ENTERTAIN THIS THOUGHT REGARDING THE @AAFIRON @AAFEXPRESS GAME: ALLOWING THE PLAYERS TO ACTUALLY FIGHT WOULD BE KEY TO LEAGUE’S SUCCESS LIKE HOCKEY, I WOULD WATCH EVERY GAME (EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO DETROIT TEAM YET – HINT). DON'T BLOW IT.
SINCERELY,
MARSHALL

Eminem was referring to a game between the Birmingham Iron and Memphis Express where recent Memphis signee Johnny Manziel got into an altercation with a Birmingham player. And while we already noted that we are fans of allowing fighting on the football field, guess who else is? Yep, Johnny Football himself.

Manziel responded to Eminem’s tweet and said that he would happily oblige if there was a change in the rules.

I got you 🐐 https://t.co/oNXEErCxHD

Of course, the Alliance of American Football is never going to consider allowing players to fight on the field — who knows, the XFL may be listening, though — but the publicity is a great thing.

The AAF has to be smiling because an Eminem endorsement already gives the league an uptick in attention.
