Gracelyn Sorrell, a 19-year-old woman who was addicted to pornography, said that she is now cured thanks to the help of God.
Sorrell, who says she used to feel “guilt and shame” after watching over four hours of pornography per day — one hour in the afternoon and three hours at night — said that her mother encourager her to find healing through Christianity.
“After everyone went to bed I would turn off the lights and watch videos, sometimes until 3 a.m.” Sorrell told Fox News.
Her pornography intake was taking a toll on the rest of her life, as she told Fox News that she was only getting three hours of sleep per night and saw a dip in her grades.
Sorrell says that her addictive porn habit was fueled by the grief she felt after her father’s untimely passing in 2013.
Now swearing not to have sex before marriage, Sorrell travels across the United States as a public speaker discussing her previous struggle with pornography addiction, her road to recovery, and the practice of abstinence.
In addition to abstinence, Sorrell advocates for blocking access to pornographic websites and for politicians to take action to protect children from the material.
“I think access to these sites should be blocked, or at least blocked until a certain age,” she said. “The videos are dehumanizing especially to women. It’s not healthy to watch. I wish it could all just be taken off the Internet for good,” Sorrell said.
Sorrell is happy to report that she has not had a relapse since 2016.
