After injuring his knee against the University of North Carolina Tar Heels on February 20, college and professional basketball fans alike began to wonder if Zion Williamson would even bother suiting up for the Blue Devils ever again. But with conference tournament play now underway, fans have their answer.
Much to the joy of Duke basketball fans, generational talent Zion Williamson will be returning to action for the Blue Devils for tonight’s ACC Tournament game against the Syracuse Orange.
The Duke Blue Devils will be taking on the Syracuse Orange in their ACC tournament matchup on Thursday, March 14, at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN, so make sure to tune in to catch Zion’s first game back in action for the Dukies.
Williamson’s return will be a welcome addition to the Blue Devils roster, as they have certainly slipped and stumbled since losing their freshman stand-out. When Zion was in the starting line-up, the Blue Devils were locked in to be a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
However, since Zion went down with that injured knee, Duke went on to lose three of their final six games of the season.
That said, barring any serious injury, Williamson is expected to feature for the Blue Devils from now until the end of the season.
Following the season, Williamson is expected to declare for the NBA Draft, where he is expected to be drafted #1 overall.
