With just over a month to go until the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios dropped the second full-length trailer for the epic conclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.
And while Disney has been extremely hesitant to reveal anything that could give away the plot of the Endgame, this latest trailer — while still noticeably light on plot — was packed with quite a few massive moments and hints if you looked close enough.
So with that in mind, we watched the trailer frame-by-frame in order to pinpoint the top five biggest moments and reveals from this latest, and likely final, Avengers: Endgame trailer.
Warning: The following can be considered as SPOILERS as these theories have legitimate potential to become facts.
Time Travel Confirmed?
Doesn’t this look quite familiar? Almost dreamlike … it doesn’t look exactly how you remember it but it feels like you’ve been there before.
And that’s because you have, as this still image of Nebula is almost identical to her introduction into the battle against Thanos on Titan at the end of Infinity War.
While this could all be a major coincidence, the background of wherever the hell Nebula is certainly looking more like Titan than it does Earth.
This Is Just Epic.
There are no real plot details to gather from this image other than Rocket Racoon riding on the back of War Machine is just an utterly DOPE visual. All the hype.
Captain America Has His Mask On Which Means Sh*t Is Very Real
Psssssssshhhhh, it is NOT looking good for our boy Steve Rodgers.
Heading into Endgame, longtime fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have pegged either Steve Rodgers and Tony Stark (but likely both) for certain death.
As the cornerstones of the Avengers, Stark and Rodgers have been the emotional compass of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since it debuted back in 2008. However, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and that end seems closer than ever for some of the OGs of the MCU.
Given the sheer magnitude of the Avengers’ task at hand, it’s well within reason to imagine a scenario where either Rodgers or Stark (or both, together) must lay down their lives for the sake of humanity. Plus, Rodgers has his mask on — something we haven’t seen since like Captain America: Winter Soldier, so you KNOW shit is getting very real.
Ant-Man Will Save The Day
Ever since his curious absence from Avengers: Infinity War, fans have been wildly speculating about what role Scott Lang will play in this seminal chapter of the MCU.
While largely used for comedic relief, the fact remains that Scott Lang possesses a unique power that even Thanos might not be able to defend himself against — the Quantum Realm.
The last time we saw Scott Lang, he was left infinitely shrinking into the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man & The Wasp after the rest of his team were snapped away by the almighty Thanos.
However, now that he’s clearly made his way back into the “regular realm”, that means he must have some sort of mastery of the Quantum Realm, right? And you KNOW the Avengers are going to try and find a way to use this power as its one of the only elements of surprise they’ll have left.
Captain Marvel Will Also Save The Day
Long-considered to be the Avengers’ ace-in-the-hole in their fight against Thanos, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel will finally be linking up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes after almost a decade on the sidelines.
Desperately paged by Nick Fury in the post-credit scene of Avengers: Infinity War, Larson’s Captain Marvel is reported to be the strongest of all the Avengers, making her absolutely key in the team’s ultimate battle against Thanos for the fate of the universe.
Plus, just look at her, she is serving LOOKS. Hell, she may be able to send Thanos packing with just a stern glance.
