It’s the final stop on the road to WrestleMania. The WWE has been on quite the roll with high-quality pay-per-view events in December, January, and February. They look to continue that trend with Fastlane. It is set to take place on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The stars of Raw and Smackdown Live will be on hand, as well as some recent call-ups from the NXT brand.
There are scheduled matches for the WWE Championship, WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, WWE Raw Tag Team Championship, WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion, and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Also on tap is the reunion of The Shield for what may be the last time. In Roman Reigns’ first match back since his leukemia went into remission, he’ll team back up with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in six-man tag team action.
WWE Fastlane Predictions
You may want to get a feel for what could happen. The biggest match of the evening sees WWE Champion Daniel Bryan defend his title against the recently returned Kevin Owens. An Owens win would be a feel good story, but it seems that Bryan and Kofi Kingston aren’t done. Expect Bryan to retain ahead of a big match with Kingston, possibly at WrestleMania.
Another huge match pits Becky Lynch against Charlotte. A Charlotte win eliminates Lynch from contention, but a Lynch win adds her to the WWE Raw Women’s Title match at WrestleMania against Charlotte and Ronda Rousey. The smart money is on Lynch to win, but don’t be surprised if there’s no winner due to interference from an angry Rousey.
As noted, Roman Reigns is back where he belongs. He and his old Shield buddies are back together to do battle with Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre. It’s difficult to see The Shield losing in this big return. When you consider Reigns’ comeback, Rollins’ upcoming WWE Universal Title match, and Ambrose leaving at the end of his contract, they’re a safe bet to win in what might be their final match together.
