Our Top 5 Boldest Predictions For The Final Season Of ‘Game Of Thrones’

At the time of this writing, it has been exactly 545 days since “The Dragon and The Wolf” —  the seventh episode of the seventh season of Game Of Thrones — was released into the world.

And now, in what seemed like the Longest Night there ever was, Game Of Thrones is exactly 50 days away from returning to our television screens.

So, in honor of being only 50 more sleeps away from the epic final season of Game Of Thrones, we figured now was as good a time as ever to drop our five biggest and boldest predictions for the last six episodes of everyone’s favorite fantasy drama show.

Arya Will Be The Most Badass Character By The End & Will Definitely Survive

arya

HBO

The image of Ayra Stark flipping around, shanking White Walkers with her Valyrian Steel dagger is just too tasty of a set piece for the writers to pass up. Plus, some of the Starks have to survive, right? Bran, wanted by the Night King, Jon, King of the North, and Sansa, the Lady of Winterfell, are all high-profile targets in Westeros.

Arya, on the other hand, is a silent assassin. Most people didn’t even know she was still alive until recently. Therefore, if anyone has the skills and low profile to avoid death in the upcoming Great War, it’s Arya’s badass.

Cersei Will Be The Reason That Jaime Dies

jaime cersei lannister

HBO

She teased it in the Season 7 finale when she threatened the wrath of the Zombie Mountain, but Cersei seems quite fed up with Jaime and his desire to, oh, I don’t know … become a better human being?

While Jaime seems to be trying to pivot towards doing what’s best for the realm, Cersei committed to the dark side long ago and shows no signs of changing course now.

And because of that, we have a feeling that Cersei will be presented with a choice: do the right thing or let Jaime live, or do what she wants and let Jaime die. And sadly, she’ll probably choose the latter.

Ned Stark Makes One Final Appearance

ned stark

HBO

The man who got it all started, Game Of Thrones would be foolish not to use Bran’s time-traveling powers as an excuse to see Sean Bean’s Ned Stark one final time before it’s all said and done.

Cersei Definitely Dies

Cersei

HBO

This one isn’t that bold of prediction given that Cersei may be the show’s most hated character.

And while being disliked has never been a general indication of death on Game Of Thrones (in fact, it’s been quite the opposite, as being well-liked has historically been a harbinger of death), it’s very difficult to imagine a scenario where Cersei — arguably the most hated woman in Westeros AND with Arya Stark on her tail — survives the Great War.

Either Jon or Daenerys Will Die

jon and dany

HBO

Sorry to everyone expecting a Happily Ever After ending, but there is just no way that both Jon and Dany make it out of this season alive. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if one sacrifices their life to save the other. So our advice to you would be to begin saying your goodbyes now because one of the show’s two main heroes is definitely going to die.
