Robert Kraft, the owner of the NFL powerhouse New England Patriots, has been charged with two counts of solicitation of prostitution in Jupiter, Florida. Additionally, a warrant for his arrest is currently with the state’s attorney’s office.
According to law enforcement officials in Jupiter, Martin County, and Indian River County, an investigation “into local spas and paid sex” was conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies in the area over the course of six months.
In total, 10 spas in the state were shut down in connection with the sex-trafficking ring.
While speaking to reporters, Vero Beach Police Chief David Currey said the investigation “put a heck of a dent in human trafficking and sex trade.”
One of the spas was identified by police as the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Florida. The average cost per visit for services was $59 or $79 per hour, police said.
The charges were announced at a press conference on the morning of Friday, February 22. Police have charged 25 people with various crimes.
According to the TC Palm, when speaking to reporters on Tuesday, February 19, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said that “there will be a newsmaker in this one” when discussing the pending announcement of the charges.
Kraft, 77-years-old, is the owner of the New England Patriots, the New England Revolution in MLS, and Gillette Stadium in Massachusettes.
His New England Patriots recently won their 6th Super Bowl title in 18 years after defeating the Jared Goff, Todd Gurley, and the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 13-3.
