One of the releases on a star-studded day of music releases on Friday, February 22, was the long-awaited mixtape from Kehlani titled While We Wait. The singer’s fourth project is the first release for the 23-year-old singer since SweetSexySavage back in 2017.
The project includes features from Ty Dolla Sign, 6lack, Dom Kennedy, and Musiq Soulchild.
It is a personal project for Kehlani, who is nine months pregnant and revealed she is dedicating it to her daughter.
“I’m telling stories I’ve never told, they’re not even, some, from my perspective, they’re from the perspective of two people that I’m about to bring out into the world, into light,” she recently revealed in an interview. “Which transfers into how I interpreted their stories and then transfers … it’s basically a gift to my daughter.”
