Lashana Lynch, born on November 27, 1987, in London, England, is an English actress who is perhaps best known for her starring role as Maria Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain Marvel.
Lynch’s acting career began back in 2007 episode when she appeared in an episode of the ITV television series The Bill. She then made her feature film debut when she appeared in the 2011 movie Fast Girls as Belle Newman.

Some early reviews of Captain Marvel singled out Lynch’s performance, with Fandango managing editor Erik Davis calling Lynch the “MVP” of the movie.
“Love the cat, love Sam Jackson, LOVE Ben Mendelsohn, but honestly I’m calling Lashana Lynch as MVP. She brings an emotional weight to the film that is needed and transforms the entire movie upon arrival. Definitely need to see more of her,” Davis tweeted after seeing the movie.
Similarlarly, Peter Sciretta, the owner and editor of Slash Film, tweeted that Lynch’s character is the “heart” of the film.
“Captain Marvel is a great origin story. Brie’s buddy cop chemistry with @SamuelLJackson is so much fun and her relationship with Lashana Lynch is the real heart of it. Ben Mendelsohn and the cat both steal the show,” Sciretta tweeted.
