Of all the All-Star games that inhabit American sports, while the NBA’s may not be the most competitive, it is certainly the most entertaining, and that is mainly because of everything else that happens before, after, and even during the game (except the game itself) — J. Cole’s halftime show being a prime example.
While the NFL was much maligned for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show featuring Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi, Twitter was full of praise for Jermaine Cole’s halftime set, as he went through some of his all-time bangers such as “No Role Modelz”, “Love Yourz”, “Middle Child” “ATM” and his new hit with 21 Savage, “a lot”.
And not only did J. Cole cover his latest tune with Savage, but he gave him a shout out as well — something none of his colleagues found a way to work in at last week’s Grammy Awards.
So while you may not be a fan of All-Star games, we promise you’ll be a fan of this halftime show performance … which is something we haven’t been able to say too often in recent years.
