Ryan Rimas Jaselskis, 22, has been charged with arson due to his suspected role in a fire at the infamous “Pizzagate” restaurant in Washington D.C.

What Happened?

According to police, Jaselskis started a fire inside Comet Ping on Wednesday, January 23. Then, on Tuesday, February 5, Jaselskis was arrested by U.S. Park Police after he allegedly climbed the fence that surrounds the Washington Monument in D.C.

In a video that shows the altercation with police, Jaselskis can be seen fighting with the two officers before they eventually decide to subdue him with a taser. A result of the fight, one of the officers received a bloody nose.

Following his arrest and subsequent release from jail, Jaselskis tried to break back into the monument the following day and was arrested again.

Comet Ping Pong — which is located in Washington D.C. — is the subject of right-wing conspiracy theories that suggest about prominent Democrats such Hillary Clinton harborer child sex slaves at the restaurant.

Jaselskis attempted arson attack is just the latest in a string of strange incidents to happen at the restaurant due to these conspiracy theories.

In December 2016, North Carolina man Edward Maddison Welch entered the restaurant with an AR-15 assault rifle and a revolver. At one point, Welch fired the AR-15 at a closet. Welch eventually surrendered and was sentenced to four years in prison.

Prior to being known for conspiracy theories, Comet Ping Pong received rave reviews from establishments such as The Washington Post, New York Magazine, and Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
