Mandy Moore, born April 10, 1984, in Nashua, New Hampshire, is an American actress who is best known for her portrayal of Rebecca Pearson in the hit NBC drama television series This Is Us.
On Thursday, February 14, a report from The New York Times made allegations of sexual misconduct against Moore’s ex-husband Ryan Adams, who she was married to from 2009 to 2016.
According to The New York Times, “seven women and more than a dozen associates described a pattern of manipulative behavior in which Adams dangled career opportunities while simultaneously pursuing female artists for sex.”
In a statement on Instagram, Moore said that her heart is with “all women who have suffered any sort of trauma or abuse.”
“Speaking your truth can be painful and triggering but it’s always worth it. My heart is with all women who have suffered any sort of trauma or abuse. You are seen and heard,” the statement read.
Prior to becoming a successful actress, Moore was actually a pop star in the early 2000’s. Her debut studio album, “So Real”, was released in 1999 and went on to receive platinum certification.
