While we’ve all been embarrassed by our parents time and time again during the course of our childhoods, that sort embarrassment following people to the college level is generally unheard of. Except at Towson University, apparently.

According to the Towson University Police Department, during the week of February 4, there was a middle-aged Asian woman “in her 50s” walking around the campus, asking young women if they would go on a date with her son.

The woman — who remains unidentified at this time — reportedly approached “several” students on the Towson campus over the course of the week.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the woman would show the students a picture of her son on her cell phone before asking if they were interested in dating him.

Specifically, the woman was spotted at the Cook Library and Center for the Arts and caused enough of a disturbance that students began complaining to police.

As a result, Towson police issued an incident advisory that included a link to surveillance footage of the woman and asked anyone with information to contact university police at 410-704-4444.

“This incident advisory is being provided in order to make the TU Community aware of an incident on campus that may cause concern. This advisory is intended to heighten awareness and inform the community of incidents that may impact their safety and security,” chief of the university police department Charles Herring said in an e-mail.

While Towson officials say the unidentified woman will not face any criminal charges, they wish to speak with her in an effort to make her stop this behavior.

That is all the information that is available at this time. This article will be updated with new and relevant information should it become available.
