Tulsi Gabbard is widely regarded as one of the rising stars in the Democratic Party and she is one of the candidates who has thrown their name into the mix for the 2020 presidential election. Gabbard currently serves in the U.S. House of Representatives for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district.
Gabbard is the first Samoan-American and first Hindu member of the United States Congress.
Along with her role in politics, Gabbard has served the country as a member of the field medical unit of the Hawaii Army National Guard. Gabbard served in a combat zone in Iraq from 2004-2005 and also was deployed in Kuwait.
Gabbard, who is 37 years old, was born in Leloaloa, American Samoa on April 12, 1981.
