Will Ferrell’s iconic Ron Burgundy character is arguably one of the most recognizable and beloved comedic characters of the last 20 years.
Despite the fact that the original Anchorman — which also starred Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner in addition to Ferrell — came out 15 years ago (!!), Ferrell is still finding new and innovative ways to get further mileage out of the character.
In 2013, Ferrell dusted off the burgundy suit to co-anchor an entire newscast for KXMB-TV news in North Dakota.
He showed up at the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber.
He even anchored SportsCenter and got the chances to interview Peyton Manning:
And now — 15 years since the character first debuted in the classic 2004 film, Ferrell has found yet another way to get further laughs out of the character, this time by starting his own … podcast?
In collaboration with iHeartRadio, The Ron Burgundy Podcast, which was first announced in December, seems to be based around the premise that Burgundy — who is technically from the 1970’s — has a podcast without really being sure what a podcast *actually* is.

While not much is known about The Ron Burgundy Podcast, given that Will Ferrell (and Ron Burgundy) are involved, we have a feeling that it will definitely be worth the listen.
At the very least, we can promise you that it will probably be funnier than Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Either way, we think we can all agree that we hope Brick Tamland, Brian Fantana, Champ Kind, and Veronica Corningstone make an appearance at some point in the podcast — otherwise, what’s the point?
The Ron Burgundy Podcast is scheduled to be released in iHeartRadio on Thursday, February 7.
