Adoring Julia Roberts is about as American as baseball, apple pie, and the Fourth of July. Since the 1980s, Julia Roberts has been one of the A-List actresses in Hollywood, matching her unrivaled talents with her ageless beauty.
Born on October 28, 1967, in Smyrna, Georgia, Roberts attended Fitzhugh Lee Elementary School, Griffin Middle School, and Campbell High School before going on to Georgia State University, although she did not graduate.
After dropping out of Georgia State University, Roberts moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting, eventually signing with the Click Modeling Agency.
Roberts’ first professional acting role in a film came in the 1988 movie Satisfaction alongside of Liam Neeson.
Roberts got her big break in the year 1990 when she starred as Vivian Ward in the romantic comedy Pretty Woman alongside of Richard Gere. For her performance in Pretty Woman, Roberts was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
After Pretty Woman, Roberts became a certified A-list actress, starring in major motion pictures such as Sleeping with the Enemy in 1991, The Pelican Brief in 1993, My Best Friend’s Wedding in 1997, Notting Hill and Runaway Bride in 1999, Erin Brockovich in 2000, and The Mexican and Ocean’s Eleven in 2001.
For her performance in the 2000 film Erin Brockovich, Roberts won the Academy Award for Best Actress, the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama.
More recently, Roberts has starred in the excellent Amazon Prime series Homecoming and films such as Eat, Pray, Love, Larry Crowne, August: Osage County, Wonder, and Ben Is Back.
However, no matter how old Roberts gets or what she stars in, we’ll always consider her the GOAT.
