The first trailer for Hobbs & Shaw, which stars — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Jason Statham, and Idris Elba — has finally been released & it’s as wild as you imagined.
A spin-off of the original Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw has essentially trimmed all the fat to give fans the two characters they want to see most … and then went and added Idris Elba to the cast.
Most notably, this is the first film in the long-running Fast & Furious franchise to not star Vin Diesel, thank god (yes, he didn’t star in Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift, but he did make a cameo at the end — spoiler alert?).
Here is the official trailer for Hobbs & Shaw:
“Two years after the events of The Fate of the Furious, federal agent Luke Hobbs and former-British military turned mercenary Deckard Shaw must join forces in order to stop a new threat emerging from the cyber-genetically enhanced international terrorist known as Brixton (Elba).”
In addition to the fearsome threesome of The Rock, Jason Statham, and Idris Elba, Hobbs & Shaw also stars Vanessa Kirby, Roman Reigns, Eiza Gonzalez, Eddie Marsan, Cliff Curtis and Helen Mirren.
Hobbs and Shaw — directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) and written by Chris Morgan — will be released in theaters in the United States on Friday, July 26, 2019.
Also, quick side note — for those of you who don’t know who Eiza Gonzalez is, get familiar, as the 29-year-old Mexican actress is not only one of the most beautiful women in the world, but soon to be one of the most famous, too, as she is set to star in six (6!!!) films in the next two years alone, including high-profile blockbusters such as Alita: Battle Angel, Bloodshot, and Godzilla vs. Kong.
Oh, and she also broke the internet when she invented the color yellow at the 2018 Academy Awards.
