Larry Fitzgerald has built up his net worth during his decade and a half as an NFL wide receiver. So far, he played his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals. There was a lot of speculation in recent months that Fitzgerald could retire before the 2019 season. However, the star player who currently ranks second in NFL history in all-time receiving yards, inked a one year deal to return for his 16th season.

Larry Fitzgerald Current Net Worth: $97 Million

The full details of his new contract aren’t currently available, but as of 2018, Fitzgerald had an $11 million salary. His estimated net worth is $97 million thanks to a combination of that salary and endorsements.

Personal Life (1983-)

Born on August 31st, 1983, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Larry Fitzgerald is the son of a sportswriter. Larry Fitzgerald Sr. eventually went on to become the first reporter to cover his own son in the Super Bowl. Carol Fitzgerald, Larry’s mother, passed away in 2003 from breast cancer. Fitzgerald made a promise to his mother that he would finish his education, and he went on to complete his undergraduate degree from the University of Phoenix. Fitzgerald has a younger brother who also plays football and two sons.

College (2002-2003)

Though Fitzgerald graduated later in life, he played at Pittsburgh during his college football days. While there, Fitzgerald was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 2003. That same year, he was a unanimous All-American and made the First Team All-Big East. His jersey was ultimately retired by his alma mater.

NFL (2004-)

During the 2004 NFL Draft, Larry Fitzgerald was taken with the third overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals. The coach at the time, Dennis Green, knew Fitzgerald since he was a child ball boy for the Minnesota Vikings. Almost immediately, Fitzgerald became one of the top wide receivers in the league. During his career, he has made the prestigious Pro Bowl 11 times, made three All-Pro teams, and led the league in both receptions and receiving touchdowns twice each. Fitzgerald played in the Super Bowl once. He caught two touchdowns, including a go-ahead score late in the game, but his team ultimately fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Charity

In 2016, he was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, given to players for their volunteer and charity work. Hsi efforts there began with the passing of his mother. It sparked the NFL star to establish a fund in her name that supports causes she held near and dear.

Net Worth

Currently, Larry Fitzgerald ranks tenth among active NFL players in terms of career earnings with $163,296,387. That includes a 2011 deal worth $120 million. He’s made the second most money by any non-quarterback in the NFL currently. Along with the salary, some of Fitzgerald’s money comes from his endorsements deals. He has been known to work with companies like NIke, Lonovo, The Univerisity of Phoenix, Bose, and Nokia. As of 2015, he made $1.5 million from these deals. Fitzgerald also owns several cars from a Range Rover to a BMW 7-Series, and recently put his Paradise Valley home for sale for $5 million.
